On Friday, January 30, 2026, the Award for Outstanding Student Theses was presented during the alumni meeting of the Mechanics Section of the Leibniz Universitätsgesellschaft e.V.
The Mechanics Section connects the former mechanics institutes A, B and C, which today form the institutes IKM, IDS and IMES. Each institute is entitled to nominate one outstanding student thesis per year.
This year’s IMES award goes to Jakob Hentschel for his master’s thesis entitled
“CardioForce: Development of a vision-based, non-destructive measurement system for isometric contraction force measurement of engineered heart muscle rings.”
We warmly congratulate Jakob Hentschel on this achievement and are delighted to see this work recognized by the Mechanics Section.
