Institute of Mechatronic Systems
Welcome to the internet pages of the Institute of Mechatronic Systems. We are pleased to present the manifold research topics and research areas as well as our core competencies to you.
Mechatronics is a rather young scientific discipline and characterized by the close interaction of mechanics, electrical engineering, and information technology. Mechatronic products are omnipresent in our daily life - although not often noticed: the hard disk in our computer, the ABS brake in our car, and the espresso machine in our office, just to name a few. Furthermore, also in manufacturing engineering and medicine mechatronic components gain increasing attention: e.g. robots assemble cars and manipulators position surgical instruments with highest accuracy.
The Institute of Mechatronic Systems deals with scientific questions and applications which go beyond the limits of the involved technical disciplines and, therefore, require a holistic approach.
On the subsequent pages you can find up-to-date information on our research activities, lectures, and industrial collaborations. If you are looking for job vacancies you may click here. However, if you have any questions or if you are missing some pieces of information do not hesitate to contact us.
