- Airplane:
- Take a cab from Hannover Airport (HAJ) (duration: approx. 15 minutes).
- Alternatively: take the S-Bahn line S5 to the main station (duration: approx. 17 minutes), for further information see Arrival by train.
- Bahn:
- From Hanover Central Station, take streetcar lines 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, or 9 to "Kröpcke".
- At "Kröpcke" change to line 4 in the direction of Garbsen and get off at the Schönebecker Allee stop (previous name: "Friedhof Auf der Horst") (duration: approx. 23 min).
- From the Schönebecker Allee stop, follow Schönebecker Allee in the direction of the highway bridge. After crossing the A2, you will see the Mechanical Engineering campus on your left. The Imes is located in building 2 (house 8142)

Arrival by car
- Leave the A2 freeway at the "Herrenhausen" exit.
- Follow the federal highway B6 in the direction of Nienburg.
- Follow the B6 to Café del Sol (on the left) and Möbel Hesse (on the right) and turn left into the street "An der Universität" shortly after the speed measurement column.
