We congratulate Leon Budde and Dr. Tim Meyer from the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology on receiving the 41st Animal Welfare Research Award from the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), represented by the Parliamentary State Secretary Dr. Ophelia Nick.

The award was given for the development of a process that can be used to optimize and automate the production of artificial human heart muscles, so-called "EHM". The work was developed through cooperation within the interdisciplinary Indiheart project.
